Set Free (Heather Horning)

From the walls of the vessel, wings emerge and stretch outward, as if experiencing freedom for the first time. The butterflies remain connected to the structure, yet seem poised to take flight. What was once contained is no longer; a familiar form has been reimagined.

The vessel is formed in white stoneware and finished with an ethereal blue glaze on the exterior. A darker, more distressed blue-green emerges from within, glimpsed through the cutouts and carried onto the wings.
