Seven-Oh-Three (Gary Paterson)

A painting’s main components are style, composition, color, subject and emotion. The style (and surface) of "703" is(are) geometric, derived from Mid-Century modern breezeblocks - cement building blocks with geometric openings. They cover the surface like a theater's scrim. Subject is a Mid-Century house, whose outdoor walls have the same pattern as the painting's overlay. There are 3 colors, each in 4 values - 12 colors total. When seen through the breezeblock pattern, the house is warm and welcoming - and ooirganized.
