I chanced to see this bald eagle perched quietly on a weathered tree stump in Yellowstone. I hunkered down in the snow and started shooting as the light of sunrise gently illuminated the eagle. The still landscape and the eagle's calm, watchful presence created an unforgettable feeling of peace, solitude and connection with nature.
