Lady Liberty is my visual response to the No Kings protests and to a growing uneasiness about the meaning of freedom in America. Draped in chains and tears, this anonymous Lady Liberty becomes both symbol and witness; an image of a nation struggling with questions of power, truth, identity, and the rights we too often take for granted.
Through photography, symbolism, and a deliberately surreal visual language, I wanted to create an image that asks more questions than it answers. Lady Liberty is ultimately about the fragile space between freedom and fear.
