Inspired (Susan Masley Thomas)

This painting reflects a memory of a collage that my parents had in our living room during my childhood in the 1960-1970's in the Seattle area. I loved it so much, I thought about painting something like it for decades and finally did. The painting is similar to but different from the collage by Paul Horiuchi, with a similar palette and upward diagonal movement. Many of my artworks include upward movement, in celebration of resilience, optimism, strength, and gratitude.
