The Golden Time was the name of our family sailboat from my childhood. My father was a surgeon and well known for his perfectionist personality. My cousins called him the, "Old man of the sea." The painting's palette was inspired by the colors he chose for the spinnaker of the racing boat. A stunning spinnaker! There are some intentional imperfections that I enjoyed incorporating into the shapes and brush strokes. This painting celebrates his favorite colors, his strength, and the many lives he saved in his small town.
