The Fruits of My Labor (Cheryl Bankes)

This is an extruded clay sculpture with hand formed spheres to resemble fruit. I always work intuitvely ,without a pre-planned idea. It is like solving a puzzle for me as I make the piece balanced with movement, contrast, and texture. The extruded forms were then glazed to look metallic and the rounded forms glazed with matt colors for contrast. I added the copper and bronze wire to give variation in lines and emphasis to make it visually exciting.
