August 19, 2013: I found this book in the desert. It had been defaced by a reluctant student. And left in the desert to deteriorate. The sun eats up a lot of the ink and the blue seemed to be the dominant color in this situation. I wonder the age of the kid and the heavy topic this book advertised. Also the area sort of had a haunting feeling about it. It seemed that a tent was engulfed in earth. And bits of it stuck out of the ground. Like a heavy rain had made a sand slide in the canyon. I call that canyon, ‘Canyon of Addiction.’ It us right after ‘Marble Mountain.’
