Among the most beautiful aspects of Earth's landscape are the rolling hills, valleys and mountain tops. This painting features bright colored flowing hills with a mountain standing guard in the distance. While the rolling hills are peaceful and inviting, the mountain appears to be foreboding and signaling a warning against potential encroachment. This posture brings to mind the lyrics from the 1962 popular country crossover song, "Wolverton Mountain" as recorded by Claude King. Hence the title of the painting, "They say don't go--("on Wolverton Mountain).
