Visiting a secluded rainforest lodge in Costa Rica just as the COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions were being eased had a profound affect on me. Some animals ventured out from their leafy shelter to visit the nearly deserted grounds.
A squadron (group) of collared peccaries came out of the forest every day to forage. They were clearly visible, even from a distance. I wondered, what colors might they be if they didn't have to hide from predators?
