The Way We Were Dona Guille y Máximo

In New York City my grandparents lived and loved to the fullest. In the painting they are dressed and ready for the fiesta de Nochebuena to begin, a tradition they brought with them from Puerto Rico. The bright red and blue color contrasts add a festive air in their small apartment kitchen. In the center of the painting their hands touching remind us of what was central to their lives: love.
