Photographs are often perceived as objective records of reality, however our memories of the time that the photograph represents can depart from the visual object. Baker imagines history, family and memory, attempting to capture the essence of what is and reconcile the bittersweet longing for the past. She explores aspects of the human condition and the evolution of our social constructs.
