Employing Styrofoam, cardboard, metal, and other repurposed packaging materials left over from a shipment of install-it-yourself furniture, this assemblage painting represents an intense push-and-pull between discarded and discovered. Suggesting modern themes of consumerism, excess and sustainability, it also blurs artistic lines between the 20th and 21st centuries with forms that evoke Mondrian and mid-century-modern abstraction.
