Every piece of wood I collect on my Whidbey Island beach walks speaks to me. It has to or, it doesn't go in my pack. These bits of driftwood spoke to me. I saw what I wanted to create the minute I found the gnarled base. Using sandpaper, a pocket knife, wood glue, and water color paints, with the perfect sized heart shaped rock I brought the vision I had together.
