Ceramic artist and designer Carla Roth was born in Canada, and lives and works in Palm Springs, California. She studied design, fine arts and art history at Kootenay School of the Arts, Instituto Allende, Belles Artes, and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design/Dalhousie University.
Roth’s exploration of natural clays presents her with a way to acknowledge chaos and patterns, and invites viewers to reflect on the quiet interplay of strength and fragility. Her work is primarily slab-built and celebrates the organic qualities of clay, form and balance.
