Unique to the Coachella Valley is the intensity of the sun and thereby the shadows thrown on the side of a building or across pavement. With this intense sun, the shadows define an object depending on the surface. The inclusion of architectural elements, plant life and colours of the Desert all work together to express the Desert cities.
