Wire Bonsai 16 (R. Crebo)

The sculpture is created out of approx. 1350 feet of alumimum wire of various gauges. It is a two tier, upright design comprised of approx. 370 individual strands of wire. Once the wire strands are cut to the desired length, they are gathered into a bundle and hand twisted into the desired shape of the tree and form the intricate root system. Foliage of the tree is created by curling, then uncurling individual strands of wire using different sized rods. Once the tree/foliage, and roots are formed, the sculpture is mounted/secured to the hand selected driftwood base.
