This work was started and primarily completed en plein air during the festival last January, but I added just a few highlights in the studio as I evaluated the piece over time. This little baby palm was highlighted in the warm desert light and reflected in the adjacent creek. I felt like it just encompassed the magic of Indian Canyon and was a joy to paint.
