Coachella Valley Preserve (L Young)

The Coachella Valley Preserve is a beautiful, natural and inspiring place to visit not too far from my home. I painted this piece en plein air along with other artists and friends on an outing. It was my first time there and I loved the shadows cast on the path with the palms in the background and pumped up the colors to express my joy!

I used gouache, a watercolor medium that is opaque and a pleasure to work with. The painting is professionally framed using plexiglass to reduce weight.
