For most people, admitting to themselves that they are Gay is a difficult process. Voluntary disclosure to other people that you are Gay is even more difficult. Revealing your secret and openly acknowledging your sexuality, while liberating, can be very scary since it opens you up to multiple negative social, family, friends, religious, legal and safety issues. This painting depicts the process of coming out of the closet and the scariness of that decision.
