This junkyard was inspired by a vast heap of cars I saw on a mountainside in Hurricane Utah. It was dazzling, a visual feast. After completing a painting of dead cars, I decided to create another kind of junkyard, filled with old rusted machinery and appliances.
The blue car is the only remnant of the original junkyard. The background landscape is imaginary, inspired by many landscapes I painted in Utah.
