Tonopah Airfield was an Army Air Force training facility in south-central Nevada during World War II. You can drive on to the old grounds, but the old wooden hanger is fenced. I've shot concrete pads before, and this one has the added attractions of the tall chimney and the small pits. The whole scene is artificially lit. The overall light is from a strobe I placed far out in the field to the right. The pits are lit by a camp lantern with colored gel. Additionally, I lit the cluster of Joshua Trees with a strobe.
