I was still shooting with a panoramic film camera a lot back then (2005), the Fuji GX 617. I have a fascination with the graphic characteristics of road shots like this one. Additionally, this has all those patches that give this image its wonderful texture. Another example of things changing in the desert. The road has been re-paved and all those patches are gone.
