The Phantom of the Opera, the musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber, is my all-time favorite play. I’ve seen it eight times, and I’ve always liked Michael Crawford. He has a great voice. But for the painting, the image of the half-covered face was the deciding factor. I added violet to the white mask to give it body.
