Albert Einstein had the remarkable intellect to conceive of the smallest unit of measurement, the atom, and understand the largest, the universe. We’re still following his formula, E=mc2. It’s one of the two pillars (with Quantum mechanics) of modern physics. Einstein received the 1921 Nobel Prize “for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect,” a pivotal step in the development of Quantum theory.
